VUSD Receives Award for Excellent Budget Presentation

Visalia Unified (VUSD) recently received recognition from The Association of School Business Officials International (ASBO) for excellence in budget presentation with the Pathway to the Meritorious Budget Award (MBA) for the 2024-2025 budget year. This is the second year in a row Visalia Unified has shown its commitment to communicating its fiscal responsibility. In 2023-2024, VUSD was the only school district to receive the award in the state of California.

VUSD Students in top 20% Nationwide for College Courses

Visalia Unified, in partnership with the National Educational Equity Lab (Ed Equity Lab), proudly recognizes our students who have been inducted into the Ed Equity Lab’s National Honor Society. These exceptional high school students have demonstrated outstanding academic performance by performing in the top 20% of all scholars nationwide enrolled in dual-credit college courses.

Visalia Unified Recognized by State for Work in Supporting At-Risk Students

Visalia Unified School District (VUSD) set the standard for supporting at-risk students with the recent recognition of two of its non-traditional high schools: Creekside Community Day School and Sequoia High School. Both schools were honored by the California Department of Education (CDE) as a Model Community Day Schools (MCDS) and Model Continuation High School, respectively. These recognitions reflect VUSD’s commitment to providing a holistic approach to education, addressing the barriers students face in traditional school settings.
