District News

  • Community Alert - Update Regarding El Diamante Boundary Fence (July 1, 2020)

At the outset of this update, we want to recognize that student-initiated and student-led expressions related to the fence located on the corner of Akers and Wagner, on the boundaries of El Diamante High School, were made in an overwhelmingly peaceful manner. While these signs have challenged the community to respond, the District is disappointed in the reactions of some adults to respond with multiple incidents of threats, violence, and intimidating actions. While we cannot expect to agree on every aspect of any emotionally charged issue, we can agree that we, the District and all adults in this community, need to do our best to provide opportunities where our students' unique and diverse voices can be heard. These harmful actions by adults of our community must be denounced. Click on the headline for more...

  • Community Alert - 2020-2021 School Year Planning Update (June 11, 2020)

As we continue to plan for the opening of next school year, our number one priority continues to be protecting the health and safety of our community. It is our hope that we will be able to open the 2020-2021 school year in the traditional form with activities back in full swing. However, because we do not know what the spread of COVID-19 will be at that time and how it will affect our area, our planning must continue to be flexible. Click on the headline to read more...
