VUSD Board of Trustees appoints of Kirk Shrum to the position of superintendent. Mr. Shrum will officially begin working alongside Interim Superintendent Cardoza on May 16, 2022, and then he will assume the full responsibility of leading VUSD on July 1, 2022.
On January 25, 2022, the Visalia Unified School District Board of Trustees unanimously voted to adopt Resolution No. 21-22-19. The resolution adopts trustee area boundary Map C and affirms the election sequencing set forth on Map C.
Visalia Unified School District's After-hours Academic Assistance (AAA) provides after-hours academic support, through a virtual platform, for all VUSD students grades K-12 at no charge, four evenings a week. The hours are 4:00 - 9:00pm, depending on the grade level.

Mountain View's VISTA Dual Immersion program will help students learn academic content while acquiring a second language. Because of the teaching strategies that will be utilized, students will learn the concepts and skills needed at each grade level while developing the ability to read, write, speak, and listen in the target language. Students that participate in VISTA will become biliterate in both English and Spanish at the end of 6th grade.
