Opening / Introduction

  • Dear Parents ,             Standards and Rubrics

This school year, I will be working on building a strong academic and social foundation that will enable your child to become a better student, a scholar. Students will not only learn our academic content in language arts, math, social studies, science, music etcetera, but at the same time they will continue to learn self-motivation, responsibility, self-control, and independence. Students will be required to demonstrate scholarly behavior on a daily basis.

I will use lots of positive reinforcement. Students will be expected to follow our classroom and school rules. Students need to come to school ready to learn. At school they need to respect all students, teachers and other adults.  In class, I expect students to wait their turn to speak, especially when I am speaking..

In the case of negative behavior, I  will need your support with the consequences. If your child knows we are on the same team, they will tend to not demonstrate the negative behaviors. I can't correct negative behaviors inside  the classroom, if you do not reinforce and support me at home.

I will work everyday to make your child's experience the best it can be.  I have the right to teach and your child has the right to learn.. I want all my students to know that learning is fun! I want them to come to school  well rested and with their best attitude.

Finally, I want to thank you for entrusting me with your child this school year.  I  am looking forward to an amazing year!
