  • The Visalia Learning Center (VLC) is a one-of-a-kind library for all Visalia residents, VUSD students and staff. This spectacular resource is a hub of community activity with a welcoming atmosphere and helpful, dedicated librarians.  


    In addition to the library’s large K-6 print collection,  enjoy the reading room just off to the side with hands-on learning activities that will inspire your young ones to learn and grow. The VLC’s Resource Center and Work Area has the technology, supplies, and tools available for laminating, poster-making, creating digital die-cuts, and much more. You can purchase supplies from us or bring your own.


    The VLC offers:

    • 60,000+ print books for elementary age readers (including picture books, easy readers, chapter books, graphic novels, and books in Espanol)

    • 1000+ ebooks and audiobooks

    • 10 academic databases

    • 20+ children’s magazines

    • 10 laptops for patron use in the library

    • The George Pilling Reading Room (with board books and hands-on learning activities geared for early childhood development/growth)

    • The Resource Center and Work Area (with digital poster-making technology, a new die-cut machine with over 3,800 shapes, 600 manual die-cuts, laminating machines, tools for spiral binding, specialty paper and butcher paper, and many other supplies for purchase and to make your next project perfect)

    • Book Kits are available for classroom teachers

    • Big Books for interactive read-aloud activities


    Four Creeks Cafe, just outside the VLC, complements the library with fresh coffee, baked goods, parfaits, sandwiches, pastas, salads, and much more. Treat yourself when you stop by. You’ll be glad you did.
