WHAT IS MINER FOUNDATION?
Miner Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization run by group of parent volunteers at El Diamante High School. Miner Foundation exists to help the school and its students in a variety of ways: school improvement projects, to club grants, to scholarships, and providing the various clubs and organizations on campus additional avenues to raise money. Your support of Miner Foundation directly benefits El Diamante High School and its students, not to mention its tax deductible.
HOW DOES MINER FOUNDATION RAISE MONEY?
The main fundraiser for Miner Foundation is its Annual Dinner Fundraiser in the spring with live music that includes live and silent auction items. Miner Foundation solicits donations from businesses along with EDHS Clubs and Sports teams for auction. Items donated from Clubs and Sports teams receive 50% of the amount raised from the item while Miner Foundation receives the other 50%. Miner Foundation also sells water and cookies at the graduation commencement ceremony to raise additional funds. Miner Foundation needs your support to fulfill our goals of scholarships and campus improvements.
WHERE DOES MINER FOUNDATION MONEY GO?
Miner Foundation has been granting scholarships to El Diamante students since 2007 and has given away over $150,000. Miner Foundation has expanded its vision to doing campus improvement projects too. The sun shade screen on the East side of the Library is an example of our support. Miner Foundation also recognizes our Teachers during Teacher Appreciation week by hosting a breakfast for the teachers.
WHEN DOES MINER FOUNDATION MEET?
Miner Foundation meets monthly to plan and prepare for our Fundraising Dinner and Auction and discuss fundraising requests. Miner Foundation meets in the Career Center monthly at 5:30pm. Everyone is welcome to join our meetings.
