A little about me...
I am enjoying my seventh school year working at El Diamante. I am currently in the assessment specialist position for the special education department. I have an awesome husband and three amazing little girls. All three kiddos are under the age of five. Needless to say, my family keeps me on my toes and I wouldn't have it any other way.
I was born and raised here in Visalia, CA. I attended Veva Blunt Elementary, La Joya Middle School and Redwood High School. I am proud of the fact that I worked my way through college and obtained my degree the non-conventional way. I attended two different junior colleges and then finished my bachelors through University of Phoenix. This was mostly due to the fact I didn't have any idea what I wanted to do and I had to work full time in the process. (To all of my students- It doesn't matter how you finish, the point is that you finish) I completed my special education credential in mild/moderate through TCOE's IMPACT program. I truly feel like my job picked me. I love working with high school students and being in a position where I am able to give back to the community.
One of my passions is dance! Before coming to El Diamante, I basically lived at a dance studio. I danced for 20 years, competed for 10 of those years, and taught dance for 9 years. This is where my teaching and dedication to children began. I'm a sucker for the arts.
I believe every individual deserves an opportunity to reach his or her own personal best. I am looking forward to working with my students and their families this year! Building relationships and connections is what it's all about.
