Dear Redwood Ranger Families,
I am very humbled and honored to introduce myself as the new principal of Redwood High School and to join this excellent school community. I can assure you that I share in this school community’s dedication to caring for our students every day while providing them with a meaningful learning environment.
The 2022-2023 school year will mark my 23rd year in education. I served as a high school physical education teacher for 16 years before transitioning into administration. In 2016, I accepted the interim athletic director position at El Diamante High School. From there I served one year as an assistant principal at Ridgeview Middle School, then moved on to Golden West High School where I served as an assistant principal for three years before becoming the principal of La Joya Middle School the 21-22 school year. Although I have always felt at home as a teacher and coach, it is in my position as a secondary school administrator where I have been most fulfilled in my life’s work. The high school principalship provides me the chance to work collaboratively with teachers on a daily basis, while also remaining connected to students learning and growing in the classroom.
As a Redwood parent and community member, I believe that I share the core beliefs and values that underlie Redwood High School. I wholeheartedly believe that great schools are the result of great teachers and my primary goal is to continue to support the teachers of Redwood High School and to continue to provide the tools needed to continue to be successful.
I am thrilled about this school year and look forward to working with the Redwood staff and administrative team to ensure that the students of Redwood High School have a school year filled with quality instruction and fun. I cannot wait to meet you all!
It is a great day to be a Ranger!
Dr. Amanda Richard
