Redwood High SchoolStudent Dance AgreementTo prevent inappropriate dancing and ensure the safety of all students, parents are asked to read over the following dance rules with their students. After you have gone over the rules please print out the attached document, sign, and return it to school.Dance Behavior Rules
- Standing Up at all times is required
o Students are to face each other on the dance floor
o Dancing/standing/moving cannot be on all fours
o Both feet are to be on the ground—Break dancing excluded from the rule
o Keep your bodies above a 90 degree angle so that your head cannot go below your waist
- Groping or Inappropriate Touching is not allowed
o Any touching must with your hands and a waist level
o Rubbing or “bumping and grinding” is not allowed
- 0 Be safe and do not hurt others- keep dancing safe so you do not potentially hurt others.
o Jumping on other people is not allowed
o Mosh Pits are not allowed
Dance Dress Code
o Dresses may not be cut below the bust line
o Dresses may be backless as long as they are not cut below the naval.
o Midriffs will not be exposed (This includes front and sides)
o Dresses may not have a slit that exceeds mid-thigh
o No cover-ups (coats, shawls, sweaters) will be allowed over the dresses that do not meet dress code.
o No pinning will be allowed as an alteration, if without the pins the dress does not meet the dress code.
o Fabric inserts must be sewn, not pinned. If without the pins the dress does not meet the dress code.
o Tuxedos, suits, dress jackets and slacks, or formal western cut pants with dress jackets are permitted.
o Blue jeans are not acceptable attire.
o Shirts with collars must be worn with a tie
o Appropriate shoes are required. Not Steel-toed boots, combat boots, or Athletic shoes are to be worn.
o Hats may be worn for pictures only. They may not be worn inside the dance
Failure to comply with these rules will result in the student not being allowed into the dance unless alterations are made and approved on the day of the dance. Refunds are not given for dance behavior and/or dress code violations.
