Randy Villegas

Dr. Randy Villegas was raised in Bakersfield, California, and is proud to call Visalia home with his wife Carina and their two adopted dogs.  A product of public education institutions, Dr. Villegas earned his Associate's Degree in Political Science from Bakersfield College in 2015 and later earned his Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from CSU Bakersfield in 2017.  He also obtained his Master's in Political Science from the University of California, Santa Cruz, in 2020.

Dr. Villegas is an associate professor of Political Science at College of the Sequoias and a Ph.D. candidate in Politics, with a designated emphasis in Latin American and Latino studies at the University of California, Santa Cruz.

He currently serves on the board of directors for several nonprofit organizations.  He has also volunteered and worked with several percussion and marching band programs throughout the Central Valley, most recently at Golden West High School.  Dr. Villegas is honored and grateful to serve the students, families, and community members of Area 6 and the community at large.
