Question 1: What is a school month?

Answer: A school month is different from a calendar month.   A school month is 20 school days or 4 weeks of 5 days each Monday - Friday.  Includes holidays but excludes weekends.

Question 2 : What is the minimum # of days a student can be placed on short term independent study?

Answer:The minimum is 3 consecutive school days.

Question 3 : How long are student attendance records kept?

Answer: Attendance records must be maintained until the third July following the year created. Basically keep 3 full years and the year you are currently working in.

Question 4 : What are P-1, P-2 and P-Annual reports?

Answer: The average daily attendance is reported to the State 3 times a year.

P-1 is the period between July 1st and December 31st, known as "first period".

P-2 is the period between July 1st and April 15th, known as "second period".

P-A is the period between July 1st and June 30th, know as "annual".
