Fieldwork Opportunities
Our Mission and Vision
Visalia Unified School District believes that providing high quality fieldwork opportunities in our district promotes and encourages individuals to enter various careers in the field of education.
Observation Students
College students enrolled in a course that requires 45 observation hours or less in a classroom.
Student Teachers
(Initial, Final, and Blended)
Must be enrolled in a college or university that requires practicum hours or field work hours listed in the course syllabus.
Service Learning & Pre‑Initial Student Teachers
(Fieldwork)
College students enrolled in a credential program or an integrated teaching program that requires 45-100 field work hours under the direct supervision of the University supervisor and district credentialed employees.
The University Supervisor must fill out this Application Form to request placements on behalf of students
Student Intern & Practicum Students
(Social Workers, Psychologist, Counselors, Speech and Language Pathologist)
Must be enrolled in a college or university that requires practicum hours or field work hours listed in the course syllabus.
Please note that VUSD does not guarantee a placement solely based on a complete application.
