As you are aware, Community Medical Centers (CMC) in Fresno Countyissued a notice to terminate itsContracting Hospital AgreementwithAnthemBlue Cross effective January 1st, 2023. Unfortunately, to date, Anthem Blue Cross and CMC have been unable to reach an agreement.
While we’ve been told that active negotiations continue, we understand the impact the disruption has had on your community. For this reason, we are working closely with Anthem to bring a meeting to Fresno County in the coming weeks. SISC members will be invited to attend to hear more from Anthem regarding negotiations and get their questions answered. Please keep an eye out for the forthcoming meeting invitation which will be sent once a date and location are selected.
As a self-funded health plan, SISC has a vested interest in the outcome of the ongoing Anthem and CMC negotiations. It is our goal is to maintain access to quality healthcare while also preserving taxpayer dollars on behalf of our Central Valley schools for years to come.
We hope both parties will come to a mutually beneficial agreement soon without further disruption of patient care. In the meantime, we will provide updates as information becomes available.
