Injury and Illness Prevention

The Injury and Illness Prevention Program (I.I.P.P.) is a written workplace safety plan required by the State of California under Title 8 of the California Code of Regulations, Section 3203. Its purpose is to ensure that employers provide a safe and healthy work environment for all employees by proactively identifying and correcting potential hazards before they result in injuries or illnesses.

Visalia Unified School District has established and implemented an I.I.P.P. as part of its ongoing commitment to protecting the health and safety of all students and staff. The program outlines procedures for identifying and correcting hazards, provides ongoing employee safety training, ensures clear communication on health and safety, and establishes systems to enforce safe work practices across all district sites and departments.

As part of this commitment, the District makes the safety of its students and staff a top priority. All staff are expected to support and uphold the I.I.P.P. by maintaining safe and healthful conditions in their areas of responsibility, following established procedures, reporting hazards, and promoting a culture of safety throughout the district.
