Workers' Compensation
California's workers’ compensation system is designed to provide state-mandated benefits to employees who are injured or suffer from an illness as a result of their job. Benefits may include medical care, disability benefits, and return-to-work programs.
At VUSD, the safety of our employees is a priority. We are committed to providing timely medical care and compassionate support to aid in the recovery and return to work of employees who suffer from a work-related injury or illness.
Report an Injury/Illness and Submit a Claim
- Notify your supervisor immediately.
- Contact Company Nurse at 1-877-518-6702 (code:TUJ02). If seeking medical care, report to the medical care facility as directed by Company Nurse.
- Contact your Benefit Technician after receiving medical care for further instructions and to complete the DWC1.
- Employee completes the Employee's Injury/Illness Report by selecting submit a claim below.
- Supervisor completes the Supervisor's Injury/Illness Investigation Report.
- If there are any witnesses, please have them complete the Witness Statement Form.
- The claim will be submitted to our third-party administrator Keenan & Associates for review and management of the claim. The adjuster assigned to your claim will reach out to you as your claim is being processed. Your cooperation in answering their questions is an important part of the claim review process.
