- Play-based and social-emotional learning to develop kindergarten readiness skills
- Pre-academic skills in literacy, numeracy, and cognitive development
- Physical development, including fine and gross motor skills
- Social and emotional growth in a supportive environment
- Language development to enhance communication and comprehension skills
Building Family Partnerships
At VUSD, strong communication between home and school is key to student success. Parents are encouraged to actively participate in their child’s education by supporting learning at home, volunteering in the classroom, and staying involved.
Teachers provide regular updates and maintain open communication with families. For specific questions or information about your child’s progress, please contact their teacher directly.

What is the process to enroll my child?
Two (2) Step Process:
The first step is to complete your application on the Scribbles portal and upload all required documents. A completed application is when all required documents are uploaded.
The second step will consist of an appointment to meet with an eligibility specialist to submit your proof of income from the last 30 days. All families will be served regardless of income eligibility.
This process can take up to a few months to process as we are meeting with over 18 preschool locations. Majority of enrollments happen during the summer months.
