Interdistrict Transfers-Incoming
Transfer requests for the 2026–2027 school year will be accepted December 1, 2025, through March 1, 2026. Families will be notified of transfer decisions by March 20, 2026, via email. Please note: Some schools may be closed to transfers due to enrollment capacity. If you attempt to apply for a closed school, the online system will redirect you to another school with available space.
Incoming interdistrict transfers are approved for one year at a time and are subject to annual review based on space availability.
- If your student attended a VUSD school on an approved interdistrict transfer this year, renewal for the following year is not guaranteed.
- New applicants must first apply for an interdistrict agreement through their district of residence.
- If approved, the district of residence will forward the agreement to VUSD.
- VUSD will then approve or deny the request based on space availability.
- Renewal applications must be submitted each year through the district of residence.
- Approved transfers are subject to review of attendance, behavior, and academic performance. Transfers may be revoked if these criteria are not met.
