Intradistrict Transfers
Transfer requests for the 2026–2027 school year will be accepted December 1, 2025, through March 1, 2026. Families will be notified of transfer decisions by March 20, 2026, via email. Please note: Some schools may be closed to transfers due to enrollment capacity. If you attempt to apply for a closed school, the online system will redirect you to another school with available space.
Students Currently on an Intradistrict Transfer:
- Transfers are approved only through the highest grade offered at the school for which the transfer was granted.
- 6th-grade students transitioning to middle school must apply and be approved for a transfer if they wish to attend a middle school outside their residential boundary.
- 8th-grade students transitioning to high school must apply and be approved for a transfer if they wish to attend a high school outside their residential boundary.
Current VUSD Students Applying for a New Intradistrict Transfer:
- Students must first be enrolled at their school of residence.
- Transfer approval is based on space availability.
- If requests exceed available space, a lottery system will be used to determine placement.
- Students who are not granted a transfer must attend their school of residence.
Updated: November 7, 2025
