4th/5th/6th/7th/8th Grade Academic Classes
English Language Arts/Math
Fourth-Eighth grade students attend an in-person academic class session. In this meeting, students do the following:
- Receive direct instruction in English Language Arts (ELA) standards and Math standards
- Take notes to help them through the week’s work
- Engage in standards-based discussions in small groups and with the full class
Our class sessions are critical for supporting our students' work-completion and mastering the difficult ELA and Math standards for Grades 4-8.
Class Session Times:
4th Grade: Wednesday, 9am-12pm
5th Grade: Tuesdays, 9am-12pm
6th Grade: Wednesday, 9:00am-12:00pm
7th Grade: Tuesday, 9am-12pm
8th Grade: Mondays, 9am-12pm
Math
Sixth, seventh, and eighth grade students are provided with asynchronous daily math videos created by the CHSA teacher and assigned through the Schoology website. Students take notes along with the videos, submit answers to questions, and receive feedback in real time as they engage in the video lessons.
