Recommendations from the Tulare County District Attorney's office as a resource for parents:

    • ConnectSafely.org - As students get older, they often begin to get interested in social media and/or get a cell phone of their own.  ConnectSafely.org is a California-based nonprofit organization dedicated to educating users of connected technology about safety, privacy and security.  Their website includes research-based safety tips, parents’ guidebooks, advice, news and commentary on all aspects of tech use and policy.  There is no cost to use this website to research best resources for you and your family.

    • SaferKid.com - SaferKid app is a breakthrough child safety tool that allows you to see your child's text messages, web browsing history, phone call history and phone contacts. Phone call history is available on Android only. To keep trust in your family, your kids will know that you have SaferText, and you can gradually disable its features as kids get older to give them more privacy.  There is a cost to this app.

    • Ourpact.com - OurPact’s parental control and family locator was designed with the busy family in mind. Our parental control app and family locator work cross-platform for iOS and Android parent and child devices, on WiFi and cellular networks.  There is a cost to this app.

    • MissingKids.org - The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children website is the nation's clearinghouse and comprehensive reporting center for all issues related to the prevention of and recovery from child victimization.  NCMEC leads the fight against abduction, abuse, and exploitation - because every child deserves a safe childhood.  There is no cost to use this website to research best resources for you and your family.
