Spanish 4AP Language and Culture:
Español 4AP Curso
Avanzado de Lengua y Cultura
Curso
diseñado con el fin de ayudar al estudiante a mejorar sus habilidades de
comunicación auditiva y escrita en español. Dichas habilidades incrementarán
además conocimientos relevantes de eventos diarios, arte, historia, literatura
y cultura hispana. Este programa está estructurado en base a los requisitos
delineados por estado de California, el cual incluye diversas prácticas y
simulacros para el examen de curso avanzado (AP) que se administrará en mayo.
Spanish I for Spanish Speakers:
Español ISS:
Primer año de
español para hispanohablantes. En este nivel los estudiantes aprenderán temas
básicos de gramática a la vez que
incrementarán su vocabulario a través de la lectura. Los estudiantes hablarán,
leerán, escucharán y escribirán en español.
Method of instruction:
Every effort will be made to make this class student-centered. An activity will be model, then students will work in pairs, or in groups using Kagan’s 4 Basic Principles:
– Positive Interdependence, (Interdependencia Positiva)
– Individual accountability, (Responsabilidad Individual)
– Equal Participation, and (Participación Equitativa)
– Simultaneous Interaction. (Interacción Simultánea)
Students should make every effort to speak only Spanish, and to prepare in advance.
Cultural Events:
Culture is an important part of our Hispanic Heritage, therefore relevant cultural celebrations will be acknowledge in class.

Study Hints:
*Whenever you study, do it orally. Pronunciation will improve if you practice aloud.
*Don't feel you have to sit at a desk to study. Try using the new words to describe people and/or things you see as you drive or walk . Practice Makes Perfect!
Whenever possible study with a classmate. Also, see me to schedule tutorial conferences.
