  • SPORTS BULLETIN – Dec. 7

     

    Congratulations to the boys varsity basketball team who defeated Clovis HS 75-69 on Saturday to capture the Immanuel Tournament and improve to 8-0 on the season. In the Championship game Carter Glick scored a game high 26 points, Keith Bailey scored 13, Zach Scattareggia and Juvon Manzanales scored 10 and Dominic Pineda scored 9.  Carter Glick was named Tournament Most Valuable Player and Juvon Manzanales was selected to the all-tournament team. Next game for the Pioneers is Wednesday, 12/15 at the Tulare Holiday Classic. 

     

    All athletes interested in Track and Field, there will be a meeting on Thursday, December 9th in the gym at the beginning of lunch.  It will be a short meeting to sign up for the team, go over clearance information and practice schedules.  If you have any questions, see Coach Moshier or Coach Anderson

     

    Attention anyone interested in girls swimming, preseason swimming continues today thru Dec. 17 from 3:30-5:30.

     

    Boys tennis practice this Wednesday, Dec. 8 and Thursday, Dec. 9 from 2:45-5:45. You must be cleared with Family ID and sports physicals.

     

    Attention all boys and girls basketball players and wrestlers, reminder that all student-athletes competing indoors will have to complete weekly COVID-19 testing.  Mt. Whitney will be accommodating testing at the COVID Cottage in front of the main office.  Testing will be open Monday-Friday from 9:30am-6:00pm.

     

    Attention all SENIOR student-athletes, the CIF Central Section Scholar-Athlete Award application for 2021-22 is now available in the Attendance Office.  Students have about 2 months to complete applications and return to the Athletic Director.  The WYL will make selections and submit them to the Section office.

     

    Reminder, JV/Varsity boys soccer games are both at 3:00pm, girls soccer games are 3:30 JV and 5:00 for varsity vs. Sunnyside.

     

    Staff, please excuse the boys soccer teams today at 12:30, the bus will leave for Sunnyside at 1:00, the girls JV soccer team at 2:15 for home game vs. Sunnyside.  There are no early outs for varsity girls soccer for home game vs. Sunnyside or girls JV/Varsity basketball, the bus will leave for Farmersville at 3:30  There are no early outs for Wednesday, Dec. 8.  Thanks and good luck to our student-athletes.
